The canvas for Chinese paintings doesn't always have to be a conventional sheet of paper. In this video, Shang Ge, an art teacher in Daiyue district of Tai'an city, East China's Shandong province, shows us how a painting of an ink frog, bergamot, pine, bamboo, or flowering plum can look just as good, if not even more fabulous, on a fan.
