Dawenkou town – located in the Daiyue district of Tai'an city, in East China's Shandong province – is situated by the Dawen River, which flows from east to west and is known as a rare upstream river.
Dawenkou town is also the origin of Dawenkou culture, a Chinese Neolithic culture, with ancient ruins first discovered and excavated there in 1959.
Nowadays, people can learn about Dawenkou culture and get to know about the daily lives and social customs of the Dawenkou people in ancient times at the Dawenkou Site Museum.
Outside the museum, lillies are in bloom, attracting a group of kids to play there.
