Linyi city offers hosted service for kids to spend summer
During the summer, the Lanshan district of Linyi city – located in East China's Shandong province – has been carrying out public welfare trusteeship classes and a diverse range of fun courses for children to spend a happy and meaningful vacation.
At a public welfare trusteeship class recently in Dongmiaozhuang community in Yinqueshan sub-district, 7-year-old Zhang Yuebei felt excited about the activities, which enabled him to have a go at handicrafts.
"It's amazing. I can also draw and write with sugar," said Zhang, after participating in a sugar painting activity.

These kinds of summer classes in Dongmiaozhuang community have run for the last five years.
"Some 25 children registered for the hosting class this summer," said Meng Di, a local official.
"Five volunteer teachers take turns to provide the free classes, with two of them college students who came home for the summer vacation," Meng added.
Moreover, rural children can also benefit from the services. Fangcheng town has carried out series of reading activities this summer in over 20 villages, attracting over 800 kids.
