Shandong forges ahead with local enterprises
Sangluoshu town – located in Huimin county in East China's Shandong province – has extended its reforms, optimized its business environment and become a tower of strength for local enterprises over the past few years.
One of the big beneficiaries of this transformation has been manufacturer Furui Industry and Trade Co Ltd. It invested 8.1 million yuan ($1.11 million) to introduce automated forging equipment for research and development of its V52 flow control valve products.

Thanks to support from town officials, procedures such as materials declarations, environmental assessments and project implementations were significantly streamlined. As a result, Furui's project went into production months earlier than expected.
To improve its overall business environment, Sangluoshu town has introduced a special services system with the collaboration of a number of other parties.
One example of this is that experts from 12 functional departments – including convenience services, economic committees and statistics – provide policy interpreting for local businesses to increase their awareness.
What's more, the town has also established a tracking model for major projects to ensure their smooth progress.
As a result, when Shandong Longfeng Flour Co Ltd invested 8.1 million yuan in a raw grain storage facility, senior on-site officials and company liaison officers devised a reverse scheduling plan.
This allowed construction to meet exacting deadlines and addressed issues, such as insufficient construction land.
To date, the company has installed facilities and 16 sets of equipment with a storage capacity of up to 60,000 metric tons of wheat. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
