Event promotes fitness for all
The Dingtao district of Heze city – located in East China's Shandong province – recently organized a sports event to raise public awareness of the need for everybody to keep fit.
In all, more than 20 teams, involving a total of about 200 participants, took part in the activities.
During the event, Tai Chi enthusiasts demonstrated the charms of the traditional Chinese martial art. With their skills, they showcased the perfect combination of strength and flexibility.

Other groups performed coordinated fitness exercise routines – accompanied by lively music and elegant and graceful dances, winning applause from the audience.
Participants ranged from 6 years old to 70, representing different age groups and professions.
"This event allowed me to witness a variety of fitness activities and broaden my horizons, said Shi Jian, a local Tai Chi enthusiast.
"I've been practicing Tai Chi for over 10 years. It not only keeps me physically fit, but also allows me to appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese martial arts," Shi added.
Zhang Tao, the deputy director of the Dingtao District Sports Development Center, said the event aimed to provide a platform for fitness enthusiasts to display and exchange their skills.
"We want to create a positive atmosphere in society that encourages and supports the development of fitness for all," Zhang added. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
