Children experience cultural heritage during summer vacation
Hedong district of Linyi city in East China's Shandong province has leveraged its various cultural learning stations to organize a series of activities that enable young students to experience intangible cultural heritage during their summer vacation.
These activities provide children with the opportunity to learn traditional crafts and experience the charm of excellent traditional culture.
At the Yimeng Traditional Cultural Learning Station, children learnt the art of paper-cutting under the guidance of teachers. With paper-cutting knives in their hands, they finished vivid paper-cutting works. The exquisite artworks not only enable children to learn traditional culture but also bring them joy during the holiday.

"It's really meaningful. We not only learn traditional culture but also enhance our hands-on skills. I want to bring the sachets I made back home and give it to my parents and friends," said Song Siru, a local elementary school student.
"We will strive to promote intangible heritage culture in communities, allowing more people to learn and experience the charm of intangible heritage and encouraging more young people to inherit and carry forward traditional culture through their learning," said Song Weichao, deputy director of the Linyi Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance and Scientific Popularization Research Association.
