The Lin'gang district of Weihai city – located in East China's Shandong province – is making great advances in boosting its education through the integration of technology.

Schools in the district now offer an impressive tech-savvy array of extracurricular activities, including 3D printing training, operating drones and laser engraving. That's not only igniting the keen interest of students in science, but also helping them to develop practical skills.

Following the principle of "growing through learning, innovating through growth and pursuing dreams through innovation," schools have established standardized maker spaces equipped with cutting-edge technologies in aerospace models, 3D printers and other areas.

They've also invested in teacher training, inviting experts from universities to provide guidance and support.

Artificial intelligence education and programming are also gaining popularity in Lin'gang's primary and secondary schools. To foster the interest of the kids and their proficiency in this field, several schools have established clubs and specialized classes dedicated to these subjects.

As a whole, Lin'gang is said to place a very strong emphasis on technology-based activities and encourages students to enter science and technology events and competitions.

As a result, both students and teachers from Lin'gang have achieved great success, winning numerous awards in national, provincial and municipal competitions. Their impressive performance has earned the schools recognition and honors.

Moving forwards, plans are for Lin'gang to explore innovative approaches to technology education, with the aim of enhancing the overall education quality and boosting the scientific literacy of the students. (Edited by Zhou Yunlai)
