Shandong county adds new tourism landmark
A beach music festival was held at the Moon Bay scenic area – located in Ningyang county of Tai'an city in East China's Shandong province – on July 23, providing tourists with an unforgettable experience.
About 10 kilometers away from Ningyang county is the Moon Bay scenic area, which is a newly developed close water culture and tourism project.
The scenic area currently has a 5.2-km wooden plank path around Yueya Lake, a 1.2-km beach, a 2-km running track, three reservoirs and wetlands, a yacht dock, a colorful flower field, a garden-style parking lot, as well as bicycles, tents, a food court and other supporting facilities.
The scenic area has become a good choice for people in Ningyang and its surrounding areas who want to spend the summer on the beach.
"The scenic area is not as crowded as the other seaside attractions, and I can leisurely feel the sea breeze, eat barbecue, and watch the sunset on the beach with my family, which is so cozy," said Wang Xueli, a Ningyang resident.

Over the last two years, Ningyang county has established over 40 popular tourist attractions, allowing locals to enjoy the fun at their doorway. This year, the county has planned and implemented 13 key cultural and tourism projects worth 1.5 billion yuan ($210.12 million) to improve its culture and tourism sector.
The county's future plan is to develop a tourism sightseeing belt along the Wenhe River, establish a nighttime tourism cluster in its central area, create a healthcare resort in its eastern mountainous areas, and build a Red culture tourism experience area in its western area.
