Linyi city's thriving nighttime economy boosts employment
The thriving nighttime economy in Lanling county – located in Linyi city in East China's Shandong province – has benefited over 8,000 locals who have got flexible employment.
In recent years, the county's human resources and social security bureau has continued to strengthen its support for flexible employment and to explore new models of the night market economy to promote jobs.
Focusing on the nighttime economy, the county has invested some 200 million yuan ($27.98 million) in what it calls its "Impressive Daicun Village" tourism project. It has established a nightlife gathering area in the village that covers 3 square kilometers.
Within the area, there is a museum, a charity hall, an amusement park, a fountain square, an ancient theater stage, a bell tower and other features.
The total number of nighttime markets in Lanling county has now reached more than 120 – covering every county and township – which are providing flexible employment for thousands of folks. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
