Shandong boosts its digital agricultural economy

Huimin county – administered by Binzhou city in East China's Shandong province – has been boosting the digitalization of its agriculture in recent years, leveraging its strengths in production and on-site distribution channels.

In order to develop the e-commerce industry, Madian town in Huimin county invested 200,000 yuan ($27,900) to build an e-commerce live streaming base that combines sales and training functions.
It has conducted four sessions of e-commerce training and cultivated 24 e-commerce enterprises and over 150 practitioners. It has also partnered with 37 established e-commerce enterprises and increased the incomes of farmers by 2000-5000 yuan per mu (666.67 square meters).
Moreover, Madian county has secured big orders from the Binzhou Postal Bank and Hekou Electricity Industry Park in Dongying – and developed 5,000 mu of order-based agriculture with 11 cooperatives and eight brokers. (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
