The appealing color and taste of these peaches make them highly sought-after commodities in the city's major supermarkets.
"We have more than 100 mu (7 hectares) of orchards producing around 5,000 to 6,000 kilograms per mu. The peaches are very popular and sell for over four yuan ($0.6) per kilogram in supermarkets," Wu said.
Thanks to the local cooperative and the popularity of these peaches, Wu does not have to fret about finding buyers.
The vibrant peach economy in Dingtao district would not have been possible without efforts by the local authorities to develop their distinctive industries as part of the rural vitalization drive.
By actively adjusting agricultural planting structures and guiding the local population in cultivating unique agricultural products, the district is aiming to boost income and prosperity among its villagers. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
