Linyi has a recorded history of over 3,000 years. During the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220), the State of Langya relocated its capital there. Afterwards, Langya became the chosen name for Linyi.
In fact, Linyi is home to renowned people such as Sima Rui, the first emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), master calligrapher Wang Xizhi and Yan Zhenqing, and Zhu Geliang – renowned military strategists in ancient China.
This year, Lanshan district has taken Langya culture as its theme and has organized tourism activities on the banks of the Yihe River, Benghe River and Suhe River.
Since its opening on June 30, the Xinlangya Everbright Block has been receiving over 40,000 visitors every night. "It's a must-visit place suitable for taking photos and every angle offers beautiful scenery. I want to see it again," a local said.
In addition, the Lanshan district also has staged marches and pleasure-boat displays to boost the local water economy since April 29. It's a chance for visitors to learn about stories of renowned people from Linyi through these performances. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
