Dezhou city opens 597 free parking spaces to public
Eighteen internal parking lots containing 597 spaces belonging to Party and government organs in Wucheng county – located in Dezhou city in East China's Shandong province – have been open to the public for free since July 9.
They are free of charge during certain hours on weekdays and all day on weekends and statutory holidays.
The move shows how the county is focusing on relieving parking difficulties, a hot issue affecting people's livelihoods. "Allowing the public to park for free reflects the sincerity of government departments in relieving locals' worries," said Hu Zhilei, a government official in Wucheng county.
"Simultaneously, we also provide training and guidance to security personnel, making them enhance their service awareness, " Hu added.
Locals are also encouraged to provide feedback on the parking services offered by the government departments, a measure aimed at improving the service quality and efficiency.
"Moving forwards, we will summarize the experience and continue to encourage and guide more qualified government departments to open their parking lots to the public," said Han Wei, a local official. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
