With an investment of 280 million yuan ($38.66 million), Linqu county – in Weifang city in East China's Shandong province – has built and renovated 13 urban roads spanning 13.7 kilometers and upgraded 11 core urban intersections, as part of its urban road rejuvenation project.
The county has also invested 420 million yuan to build a sponge city demonstration model – which involves diverting rainwater and sewage for 30 roads covering 47 km.
In addition, more than 40,000 flowers have been planted along a dozen newly built roads.
What's more, nine urban parks of different types have been built according to local conditions, adding 280,000 square meters of green space. The county's urban green coverage rate has now reached 40 percent, creating a pleasant and revivifying environment for residents.
