Tai'an city highlights featured industries
In recent years, Daiyue district in Tai'an city, East China's Shandong province, has striven to develop and expand its village collective economy and has led its 437 villages towards featured industries.
In Zhujiazhuang village, cherries sales have recently seen a surge of 5,000 kilograms every day and the cherry brand, Daixiahong, is gradually improving its reputation.
A company has currently been established there, which allows villagers invest in land as shares. The annual income generated from the shares can reach over 5,000 yuan ($690.08) per household. The village collective can achieve annual income of nearly 1 million yuan.
Elsewhere in Shankou town, the Bixiachun tea garden has entered its peak season for tea picking. The garden has developed an ecological tea area, which was co-built with 12 adjacent villages and occupies an area of 1,200 mu (80 hectares). Last year, the garden created 500 job positions and reached an output value of 21 million yuan.

The flourishing agricultural industries in Daiyue district have said that the district Party branch should be given the credit for these achievements, as it explored multiple cooperative business models for the 437 villages in the district.
Taking the modern food sector as its main driving force, Daiyue district focuses on developing several products. They include prefabricated dishes, functional snack food, and the deep processing of pet food and animal feed.
This year, the district has signed 10 project contracts, including a beverage project with an investment of 2.34 billion yuan.
Daiyue has also moved to improve the reputation of its representative products. For example, by leveraging the resources of Mount Tai, Daiyue district has developed new formats for culture and tourism integration. The district is now honored as a tourism demonstration area in Shandong province for its sightseeing tours, leisure tours and educational excursions. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
