Young expats soak up some cultural heritage in Tai'an
On June 24, foreign students from Congo and Sudan enjoyed a tour of Dongping county in Tai'an city in East China's Shandong province.
This saw them explore Dasong Everbright City, take in a music festival and know about ancient version of the modern game of soccer form, known as cuju.
At Dasong Everbright City, diverse range of performances such as folk and court dances and Quyi – a traditional Chinese spoken and sung art form – were showcased, making the visitors feel as though they had been teleported back to the time of the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

At the Guochao music festival, dazzling lights and cheerful rhythms let the young expats feel the charm of local music as they waved fluorescent sticks in their hands.
The young expats also played a game of soccer with local players on the green. "Playing soccer together makes me feel happy and feel at home," said a Congolese international student. (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
