Sci-tech innovation drives development in Shandong's district

The Luxi New District of Heze city – located in East China's Shandong province – is actively promoting its scientific and technological innovation and industrial development, with a prime focus on high-quality economic growth.

Resident company the Bigtree Group and the Tianjin University of Science and Technology recently completed a project called the Research and Application of Key Technologies for Directed Enzymatic Digestion and Separation of Small Molecule Active Peptides.

This passed a scientific and technological achievements evaluation conducted by the Shandong Institute of Food Science and Technology.
The project has proposed a new green plant protein extraction technology and has overcome technological challenges faced in the small molecule polypeptides industry.

The project's outcomes have been effectively commercialized, with a small molecule active peptides production line established.

Elsewhere, at the Buchang Pharmaceuticals' Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization Integration Park, the company is leveraging scientific and technological innovation to upgrade its traditional Chinese medicine production with a "qualitative change."

The entire production process is now automated and running at high speed, with materials transportation fully automated to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
The project is said to have resulted in a significant reduction in labor intensity and has been recognized as a key demonstration project for industrial transformation and upgrading at the national level. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
