Seasoned craftsman Grandpa Amu – who hails from the county-level city of Linqing, administered by Liaocheng city, in East China's Shandong province – has become an unexpected celebrity on international social platforms.

That's because of his incredible skills in mortise and tenon joints, a woodwork technique widely used in traditional Chinese architecture and furniture making – usually without any nails or glue.

In this video, Grandpa Amu makes an exquisite bamboo basket using only old bamboo roots. Let's check it out! (Edited by Chen Chuxuan)
