Lu brocade training session held in Heze

More than 60 people from Juancheng county, Heze city, East China's Shandong province recently participated in a training session on Lujin, or Lu brocade weaving skills, a national intangible cultural heritage.
Lu brocade is a general term for folk cotton hand-woven jacquard textiles unique to the southwestern Shandong region. It has exquisite and elegant patterns, brilliant colors, rich varieties, fine texture, comfortable and durable features.
The training course allowed participants to pick up new knowledge about Lu brocade culture and highlighted ways that traditional artisans can innovate.

Juancheng county, which is home to the China Lu Brocade Museum, has four representative inheritors of the Lu brocade weaving skills and more than 300 practitioners of the craft.
The county has taken concerted efforts to drive the growth of industries related to brocade in recent years and has developed various Lu brocade products such as clothing, accessories and home furnishings. (Edited by Fan Yuanyuan)
