Shandong district leverages supply chain stars to get growth
The Luxi New District of Heze city – located in East China's Shandong province – is focused on promoting a strategy to boost its industry and cultivate companies that are supply chain drivers, with high innovation levels, strong core competencies and wide market prospects.
Since the start of the year, the district has attracted over 40 new industrial projects with a total investment of 21 billion yuan ($2.97 billion).
In addition, there are over 80 industrial projects that have signed preliminary agreements.
The district's gross domestic product, general public budget revenue and fixed asset investment have increased significantly, making it the leading new district in Shandong province.
This success is driven by the so-called supply chain master enterprises. They are said to promote industry cluster development by extending, supplementing and strengthening industry supply chains to high-end, intelligent and well-clustered sectors.
The Luxi New District has launched several projects that aim to act as a microcosm of this strategy, including the Danhong injection green intelligent expansion project and the intelligent manufacturing center.
Others are the Jingjin New Energy Vehicle Electric Drive Experiment and Certification Center and the Flat Wire Motor Flexible Intelligent Manufacturing Project.

Then there is the Jinjia New Material Industrial Park in the Luxi New District. With a total investment of 1 billion yuan, the industrial park is home to new BOPP – Biaxially oriented polypropylene film – production lines, a laser paper lamination production line and its support facilities.
By developing the supply chain master enterprises that are designed to drive industry clusters, the Luxi New District aims to boost economic benefits and attract more industrial projects. This will lay a solid foundation for a raft of new leading industry clusters in the region. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
