Fair held to promote Yellow River culture, businesses
The Dingtao district of Heze city – located in East China's Shandong province – recently organized a series of events centering around the Yellow River Fair, a traditional event.
The aim of the fair – which kicked off on April 6 and finished on April 20 – was to promote Yellow River culture and bolster economic development through tourism-related business.

On the squares of a number of residential communities in Dingtao district, cultural activities featuring dances, songs and handicrafts were conducted.
"I am really happy to see such wonderful cultural and artistic programs and local classic dramas. I hope there will be more such performances in the future," said a local resident, surnamed Liu.
The Yellow River Fair enabled locals to enjoy rich and colorful performances at their doorstep. During the event, the Dingtao district government encouraged various enterprises, social organizations and individuals to promote the Yellow River culture and cultivate a group of key rural tourism areas with local characteristics.

Since organizing the Yellow River Fair in 2022, Dingtao district has held more than 60 cultural and commercial activities, attracting around 12 million people in the region and generating revenue of 680 million yuan ($98.2 million). (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
