In an ancient pear garden in Xiazhang town – in the Daiyue district of Tai'an, in East China's Shandong province – glorious pear flowers are blooming. When looking from afar, the clusters of flowers from the pear trees resemble a large group of clouds – but covering the landscape instead of the sky.
The ancient pear garden, covering an area of nearly 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares), has become the top destination at the foot of Mount Tai for a road trip. Most of the pear trees there are over 200 to 300 years old, with some over 400 years old. The trees are from a special local species called Jinzhuizi.
