In Yuantang village, in the Maji township of Dingtao district, there's a rural museum that attracts loads of tourists who want to explore what rural life was like back in the 1970s.
On display are more than 180 donated agricultural tools, handicraft items and other things that were used by local farmers in that decade. The walls are painted with pictures of farming and rural life at the time, showing their efforts to lead a better life.
"Most of the objects displayed in the museum are new to me, but they were used by our predecessors," said visitor He Ning, a sixth-grade student.
"They embody the spirit of hard work and the perseverance of older generations of our fellow villagers and have taught us and nurtured us a lot," He added.

By building the museum, the farming culture, history and revolutionary culture of the Yellow River Basin are being passed on to future generations, said He Maojun, Party secretary of the Yuantang village. (Edited by Jin Yongxue)
