Beijing DQY Agricultural Technology Co. Ltd received the Global Crystal Eggs Award - the highest honor in the world’s egg industry - at the 2013 International Egg Commission Conference.
This year’s award marks the second time that DQY has received the award, and it is the only company in the world that has won the award twice.
DQY established the first biogas power generation project in the world to transform chicken waste into clean energy. The company has three million chickens and produces more than 200 tons of manure and 300 tons of waste water each year. The system uses aerobic fermentation technology, and Sun Lijuan, vice-CEO of DQY, was quoted as saying that DQY generates and transmits to the State Grid a total of 14 million kWh per year.
Earlier this year, DQY established a second biogas project, involving biogas-slurry, crop straw and waste of Yanqing County as raw material of anaerobic fermentation, which produces natural gas with methane content of over 97%, and annual productivity of 2.8 million cubic meters.
Sun also said that DQY is the world’s first enterprise that produces renewable energy while producing eggs, and the process does not emit any polluting gases.
