IGRS Information Industry Association - a legal entity which is supported by the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park - and HDBaseT Alliance are set to cooperate in the field of standard applications.

HDBaseT will assist the Beijing IGRS working group to gain more global market share, while the working group will assist HDBaseT with technology promotion in the Chinese market and in understanding China’s regulations.

The IGRS working group is involved in setting interconnection and interworking standards of Chinese household appliances and, by cooperating with HDBaseT, it will be able to catch up in the field of physical layer interface system standards and make it possible to provide new communication interface solutions.

HDBaseT Alliance was founded by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Valens to promote and standardize HDBaseT™ technology for whole-home and commercial distribution of uncompressed HD multimedia.

HDBaseT is a consumer electronic (CE) connectivity technology for transmission of uncompressed high-definition video (HD), audio, power, home networking, and some control signals, over a common cable with a standard connector.

HDBaseT1.0 specification was finalized in June 2010, and HDBase2.0 specification was released this month. The new specification introduces the HDBaseT HomePlay feature set that, based on the HDBaseT 5Play capabilities, will make it simpler and more cost-effective for consumers to turn their entire homes into multimedia entertainment centers.
