Great-Wall Strategy Consultants Ltd recently released its report 3D Printing: New Era for Social Production. It believes that Zhongguancun Science Park, East Lake and Yiwu have the capability to apply 3D printing technology for developing new original manufacturing industries.

According to the report, 3D printing, as a groundbreaking technology, can both promote traditional manufacturing industries and bring out original industries in emerging areas. Trial-and-error methods applied by companies and the integration of industry chains are key to building 3D printing into a unique industry.

As an emerging area, 3D printing has not yet developed in full scale, and there is no precedent for China to learn how to improve the manufacturing industry through 3D printing.

According to the development law of new economy, new industries are the result of industrial trial and error, which creates industrial technologies, research and development capabilities, and human resources. The report believes enterprise trial and error is an inevitable course for the development of 3D printing in China. It requires entrepreneurs to open up their minds and society to be tolerant with failure. Mechanisms of investment, incubation and retreat are also asked to be built to reduce the cost of trial and error.

The report believes that the rich resources and friendly environment in Zhongguancun Science Park will help build 3D printing into a unique, emerging industry.
