According to the newest plan by the State Council, the original Zhuangguancun Science Park Desheng Park was renamed Zhuangguancun Science Park Xicheng Park. It covers an area of 10 square kilometers including the blocks of Desheng, Beizhan and Guangan.

After China Melodrama Research Society, Happy Mahua, Broadway International Concert Factory and Xicheng Original Melodrama Base, the “Xianhua 1949” Cultural and Financial Innovation Center in Beizhan welcomed the settlement of two melodrama centers -- Korean Cultural Industrial Revitalization and Shanghai Visual Art College. Beizhan block will make a joint effort with Desheng and Guangan to build an international science and technology innovation center.

After expansion, Xicheng Park will perform new functions including city design, scientific finance and high-end transactions. In addition, it will feature original research and design, financial back-office and creative design services. It will be built into an urban modern service industry agglomeration district where science, technology, culture and finance industries can develop in coordination.

By 2020, Xicheng Park will have made tremendous achievements in economic aggregation and regional innovative ability through the initial formation of an industrial cluster for original design, research and development services; publishing creativity; scientific finance; and high-tech enterprise development.
