André Flahaut, president of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and vice president of Parti Socialiste, visited Zhongguancun Science Park, a technology hub in Beijing's Haidian district, on May 22.

Zeng Xiaodong, international business director of the Zhongguancun administrative committee, met with Flahaut and other representatives at the technology hub and accompanied them on a tour around the Datang Telecom Technology and Industry Group, a Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment company headquartered in Beijing.

Flahaut praised the technological achievements of Zhongguancun after learning about its major business and development progress. Zeng expressed his desire to cooperate with Belguim on technological innovation projects.

During the visit to the company, Flahaut talked with Zhen Caiji, chairman and CEO of the Datang Group. Zhen said he hoped Belgium could take advantage of its role in the European Union to help Chinese enterprises develop in the European market.

Flahaut said they will support excellent Chinese companies, such as the Datang Group, to develop their markets in Belgium and Europe as a whole.
