Beijing's Zhongguancun Science Park will welcome a new sub-park in Nanyang, Henan province, after a strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed between the science park's management committee and the Nanyang municipal government on April 27.
Under the agreement, the two sides will explore better development concepts and policy systems for science parks. They will also facilitate the establishment of the Nanyang sub-park as a key embodiment for industrial chain extension and a manufacturing base for high-end products from Zhongguancun-based companies. They will also promote industrial transfer and cooperation, encourage innovation of new technologies and new products, and boost the modern service industry and inter-park personnel exchanges.
The two will leverage their own strengths to bring favorable policies into full play to ease the transition process from concepts to products. They will promote cooperation in core-competency areas -- including environmental protection, advanced equipment and biomedicine -- and encourage the upgrade of traditional industries.
"The Nanyang sub-park, which will encourage industrial restructuring, builds a blueprint of regional cooperation and development for the city," said Mu Weimin, Party secretary of the Nanyang municipal CPC committee.
