Recently, the Time Division Industry Alliance (TDIA) cooperated with Datang, Putian and Hisense to present at the first China Electronics Fair (CEF) in China and exhibit recent breakthroughs in the TD industrial chain.

The fair covers an exhibition area of 200 square meters and consists of sections for electronic terminal products, electronic testing devices and instruments, supporting electronic products and TD electronic chip products. It seeks to exhibit the excellent achievements and progress of the TD industrial chain.

The fair exhibited hundreds of new types of TD mobile phones, data cards, fixed wireless phones, chips, digital readers and other electronic terminal products in the TD industry. It also presented and explained the rapid development progress of the TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE terminal industrial chain.

The newest multi-mode terminals – including multi-mode mobile phones, MIFI and CPE – were the highlight of the fair. The terminals are compatible with communication modes like TD-LTE, LTE FDD, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM at the same time. Some terminals are compatible with frequency bands like TD-LTE Band41, LTE FDD Band1/17 and GSM Band5 for global terminal roaming.

There were 104.18 million TD-SCDMA users by the end of February 2013. Since the core chip and solutions of TD-SCDMA were optimized in the second half of 2012, the development cycle and cost of TD products have reached the GSM level. As a result, a large number of common smart mobile phones with attractive price and quality were introduced into the market.

At the same time, diversified TD-SCDMA terminal chips and solutions were put forward one after another, effectively assisting companies involved in meeting the demands of different markets and users.

Currently, as the follow-up development to TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE has established an industrial circle that looks to companies in China for guidance. Global companies are also participating extensively. As many as 14 TD-LTE commercial networks are operated in several countries and regions in Asia, Europe and Oceania. More than 10 chip producers have launched TD-LTE terminal chips, and 31 producers have launched 125 types of TD-LTE terminals.
