The 46th International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was held in the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan 8 to 11. The show attracted 3,250 companies and famous entrepreneurs worldwide to display more than 20,000 new products in the 176,000-square-meter exhibition area.
Guests at the show included Paul Jacob, CEO of Qualcomm; Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft; and Yang Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo. New products at the show ranged from cloud service items, body posture sensor technology, interconnection transportation, recent smart phones, tablet computers and high-definition TVs.
Six companies from Zhongguancun Science Park presented at the show, organized by the park's management committee. Zhongguancun companies enjoyed a total stand area of 185 square meters. Their Android-based communication devices and electronics hardware, as well as related software programs, stood out at the show. The new products reflect their efforts to keep pace with the latest trends, their ability to adjust R&D and market orientation, and their globalization progress.
Ingenic Semiconductor, K-touch, IGRS, Vimicro and other participating companies are examples of the leading players in independent innovation thanks to strong R&D capacity and market share in overseas markets. Their new products, like the first LTE net mobile phone produced by K-touch, attracted wide attention.
Xuan Hong, deputy director of the Zhongguancun managing committee, also attended the show. He talked with the organizing committee and introduced Zhongguancun Industrial Park. He also learned about the latest international trends in consumer electronics.
Administrative committees from Zhongguancun Science Park and Haidian Science Park co-hosted the China-US High-Tech Companies Meeting in the US on the morning of Jan 10 local time. The meeting aimed to provide communication opportunities and facilitate international cooperation.
Xuan addressed the meeting and expressed his wishes for more frequent talks and cooperation between China and US companies.
