A delegation from Tsinghua University Science Park (TusPark) visited Imperial College London in mid-September to negotiate a TusPark incubator in the United Kingdom.
The new incubator will be another service platform for innovation enterprises and institutions at home and abroad, after the establishment of InnoSpring in Silicon Valley.
InnoSpring was established on Jan 8 with a joint partnership of TusPark, Shui On Group, Northern Light Venture Capital and Silicon Valley Bank. As Silicon Valley's first US-China technology incubator, InnoSpring has already accepted 29 start-ups in the fields of semiconductor and interactive mobile technology. Its 1,350-square-meter office in the valley can accommodate up to 40 companies.
TusPark has already participated in a series of international events:
In 2004, it attended the first Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) in Bangkok and won the Best Paper Award.
In 2006, TusPark attended the IASP Annual World Conference in Helsinki. Chen Hongbo, deputy director of TusPark Development Center, was elected as a member of the IASP board of directors and president of IASP chapter meetings.
In 2008, the IASP Annual World Conference was successfully held in TusPark in Beijing. The IASP Beijing office, its only overseas office, was established in the park.
In 2010, Xu Jinghong, then-president of TusPark, attended the IASP Annual World Conference in Daejeon, Korea and addressed the meeting. TusPark became a part of the UNESCO Regional Center for Science and Technology Parks and Incubators Development.
In 2011, TusPark became a member of the Global Agenda Committee (GAC).
