Shanghai adds tourist trains for August
Updated: 2013-07-31

To cope with the peak tourist season in August, the Shanghai Railway Bureau plans to run 16 additional tourist trains from Shanghai to Jiujiang, Wuyishan, Huangshan and Urumqi and from Nanjing to Zhangjiajie, Hefei Evening News reported on July 23.

Similar to past years, tourists for the summer holiday this year are composed of students, teachers and families. The popular destinations include the most famous tourism areas and tourism cities. The railway bureau will also run several extra passenger trains and increase coaches.

For the passenger peak in summer, the railway department reminds passengers to purchase tickets in advance and collect tickets bought online at ticket agencies nearby. Groups over six can book tickets for trains setting off from the local railway station.
