Jiuhua Mountain airport to open in late July
Updated: 2013-07-17

Jiuhua Mountain airport in Anhui province is slated to open in late July, the builder said.

'The date of the opening hasn't been fixed. It may be July 29 or 31,' a source responsible for the project said.

The first flight on the opening day will leave for Beijing. It is scheduled for every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Starting in August, more flights will be launched to cities of Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou. Also, September is likely to see the operation of tourist charted flights to the Republic of Korea (ROK).

The airport is located in Chizhou's Meilong township, 20 kilometers away from the renowned Buddhist Jiuhua Mountain.
