Silkwood trees discovered in Qimen

108 silkwood trees, a precious plant species, were discovered in Luxi village of Qimen, Anhui province during the investigation of ancient and precious trees in this county. These 100-year-old trees are still exuberant with foliage.

Silkwood tree, a vulnerable species, is the second class national protected plant in China. It grows slowly in subtropical areas at high altitude with optimal ecological environment and geographical conditions. The county has enlisted this natural wood in key ancient tree colonies and opened a file on each tree.
