Construction of Niujiao embankment scenic spot begins
Updated: 2013-06-28

The construction of Niujiao(ox horn in Chinese) Embankment eco-tourism scenic spot has been officially launched and the project is expected to be ready by the beginning of October. This means that residents of the city of Hefei will soon have another place to enjoy their free time, in addition to venues such as Binhu Wetland Forest Park.

Situated in Yandun county, Baohe district, Niujiao Embankment acquired its name due to its shape which resembles an ox horn.

Since 2009, the authorities have focused on developing the area so that it can serve as an agricultural development demonstration area of the province. Construction began on May 12, and it will be unofficially open by the National Day holiday, and officially open for visitors by the beginning of next May.

Exotic architecture will be one of the project's key features, in addition to many varieties of flowers, and Hefei residents will no longer have to travel to Wuhan to admire cherry blossoms.

Various activities and services will also be available, including a special wedding photography spot, and visitors can also enjoy fruit picking.
