Huangshan gets its new 'Hui-style' bridge
Updated: 2013-06-27

Construction work on a new bridge across the Xin'an River, in the city of Huangshan, Anhui province, reached its final stage and the structure is getting its final touches.

This 'Hui'style bridge is formally called the Wenfeng Bridge, which costed 42.23 million yuan ($6.84million) to build and has four lanes in both directions. The very center of the bridge has an observation deck in the Hui style, with pedestrian walkways in a similar style on both sides of the bridge.

The Wenfeng Bridge is expected to provide a major link between the Jiangnan and Liyang areas of Huangshan, and to help connect Jiangxi and Zhejiang provinces. It is also the first enclosed bridge on the Xin’an River and will, of course, be a new landmark for the city.

The whole constructing project is expected to be completed by the end of August, and the bridge should be officially open to traffic, and tourists, by that time.
