Hu Hui-style ancient buildings to receive ID cards
Updated: 2013-04-27

By the end of this year, Hui-style ancient buildings in the cities of Huangshan and Xuancheng will have their own ID cards, according to the Anhui Provincial Administration of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on April 15.

Related governments at all levels and departments of housing and urban-rural development are strengthening protection and inheritance of existing ancient buildings. Jixi county, Jingde county, Jing county and Huangshan city are core locations featuring ancient architecture.

An investigation of the distribution, number and status of ancient buildings will be conducted. Localities, on the basis of comprehensively assessing the value of ancient buildings, must implement protection strategies, clarify protection levels and set clear responsibilities.

According to requirements that stress "original methods, craft, materials and form," on-the-spot protection for the ancient buildings should be adopted.
