The Jiuziyan Scenic Area is the cradle of Buddhism in Jiuhua Mountain. Of the more than 10 temples, the Huayan Buddhist Monastery and Shuangxisi Temple are particularly proud of their Buddhist culture, which have given birth to several most eminent monks in Jiuhua Mountain. Their ruins have become a must-see for all the tourists to Jiuhua Mountain. The natural scenery in the scenic zone is also extremely attractive. The Shuangxi Temple, which backs on to the mountain, is embraced by two brooks. A pear park stands in front of the temple. In spring, the flowers in full bloom are as white as snow. Behind the temple are the green peaks rising one higher than another, with steep cliffs that seem to approach the sky.

On the summit of the mountain is the Jiuzi Temple, with the ancient Tangdieshi Pagoda standing at its entrance. Jiuziyan sits behind the temple. A circle of huge stones look like nine persons gathered together. The entrance to the basin lies to the northeast of the rocks. With many converging springs flowing eastwards, their waters echoing from the cliffs, the area is a natural wonder known as the "Echo of Springs in Jiuziyan".
