Nicky Hilton has launched her foray into the American fashion industry with her label's debut at New York Fashion Week.
The 23-year-old hotel heiress already has a handbag line that's been big in Japan, and a sportswear line that's received a lukewarm reception, she hopes her new line 'Nicholai' - which is her actual name - will change all that.
Hilton says she started designing when she was seventeen.
"I started with handbags in Japan. I launched my sportswear line three years ago. And I've pretty much been offered a million licensing deals, but I didn't want to just attach my name to a brand," she said.
"It's such a big deal and a turning point in my career. I put a lot of time and energy into this."
Hilton describes her label as a "really fun collection, very upbeat. There are fun dresses, great tops and a few pieces of swimwear as well."
Whether the range will be a hit with her Hollywood jetset friends, and her sister Paris, remains to be seen.
