To celebrate the fourth anniversary of the National Center for the Performing Arts' opening, the center's production of Puccini's opera Tosca is staged from Dec 21 to Dec 24.

The production, created by director Giancarlo del Monaco especially for the center, was much hailed for its tilting and twisting stage designs when it premiered in May.

Conducted by Lu Jia, music director of the Verona Opera House of Italy, the opera will feature Sun Xiuwei/Cellia Costea as Tosca, and Aquiles Machado/Renzo Zulian as Cavaradossi.

Before the performances, the center held two lectures in which participating artists talked about the production.
