Keshiketeng World Geological Park was recognized as such in 2005 by UNESCO for its diversified landscape formations. Located in Chifeng city, in the eastern Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the park encompasses a protected area of 5000 square kilometers, composed of geological forms such as glaciers, granites, volcanoes, springs, canyons, lakes, rivers and wetlands.
The geological park is regarded as a museum of natural earth history and is promoted by the local government for its scientific and tourism values.
