German settlers in Qingdao, China founded Tsingtao brewery Museum in 1903. Since its introduction, Tsingtao beer has being greatly enjoyed by members of the Chinese community. It is the number one beer in China. The brewery first applied for permission for a Qingdao international beer festival. Since the first beer festival in 1993, a yearly celebration has been carried out every year since then. The brewery has some interesting exhibits. Inside the brewery you will see the history of the brewery and how the brewery was made.

The international beer festival is usually held at the end of august. For those looking to travel around this period, you do not want to miss this exciting festival. The ceremony is a celebration of Qingdao’s heritage as well as carnival type rides, food and games. In the evening, the events are entertaining attracting pedestrians around. One can also watch or participate in various performances such as karaoke, concerts, auctions or comedy.

Qingdao underwater world is China’s first public aquarium, opened in 1932. The underwater world is made up of for main sections connected to the street via underground tunnels. One highlight is the moving platform that takes visitors in a tunnel through the aquarium; one can look around and see fishes from every corner.

Qingdao has some of the most beautiful beaches around. The oceans combine beautiful scenery of harmonious coexistence between mankind and nature. Qingdao is a history of growth and development witnessed by the tide and wind of the sea. Beach number one is packed with equipment rentals and amusements of all kinds. Close by are restaurants, hotels and Zhongshan Park.

Qingdao restaurants are known for their hot and spicy dishes, with many of the city’s best dining venues choosing to specialize in traditional Sichuan cuisine. Freshly caught seafood is extremely popular in Qingdao and is featured in many of the menus in the Qingdao restaurants. Chopsticks play an important role in Chinese restaurants in Qingdao, tourists visiting the city and looking for more western style dishes will find many options to choose from. In my trip to Qingdao, I had the opportunity of attending the internal beer festival as well as visiting the underwater world. These two locations I must say, were my favorite spots in Qingdao.
