TRIPOLI - Libyan rebels controlled on Sunday the city of Uqalya, about 100 km west of the eastern city of Ajdabiya, after government forces loyal to embattled Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi pulled out from it, pan-Arab Al Jazeera TV reported.

The fall of Uqalya came one day after rebels recaptured the city of Ajdabiya.

Al-Arabiya TV said, citing an unconfirmed report, rebels are about to take over the major oil exporting terminal of Ras Lanuf.
