6.6-magnitude earthquake hits center-south Chile

SANTIAGO - An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale hits off the coast of center-south of Chile Monday, causing no casualties or material damage.

According to the information published by the US Geology Survey (USGS), the quake took place at 0340 GMT and the epicenter was located offshore Maule.
