20 killed in suicide car bomb in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - About 20 people including six policemen were killed and many others injured when a suicide car bomb hit a police station Wednesday evening near Pakistan's northwest city of Bannu, reported local media Express.  

According to the report, the attack took place at about 6:00 p m when an explosive-laden car rammed into the gate of a police station, completely destroying the police station and partially damaging a nearby mosque. Many people were side on the blast site and the casualties could further rise.

This is third blast that took place in Pakistan on Wednesday. Prior to this, about 2:00 pm in the afternoon, two blasts occurred in Peshawar, a city northeast of Bannu in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, leaving two women killed and seven others including three children injured.

The three blasts coincided with the visit of US Vice President Joe Biden in Islamabad, capital of the country.
