The China Equestrian Festival will be held in the Wenjiang district of Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, from September 16 to 19.

Events include the FEI Jumping Challenge (China); speed horse riding competition, horse basketball exhibition and competition, and national equestrian performances.

This is the first time a city in the central and western parts of China will host a national equestrian event.

Organizers are aimed at turning the festival into an international event, according to Wenjiang district chief Xie Chao,
