YICHUN, Heilongjiang - Families and relatives of the August 24 plane crash victims will receive 960,000 yuan in compensation for each death, Henan Airlines said Monday.

The compensation, about $141,094, conforms with China's civil aviation regulations, the company said.

A Brazilian-made Henan Airlines jet carrying 96 people crashed in Yichun, a remote, mountainous city in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province last Tuesday. Forty-two of the people aboard the flight died.

It was the deadliest aviation accident in China since 2004.
