China Mobile and Vodafone to work on 4G

2010-09-15 11:45

China Mobile will continue its cooperation with the Vodafone Group to develop a common 4G mobile telecommunications standard, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing China Mobile's chairman Wang Jianzhou.

Wang's comments came after Vodafone sold its 3.2 percent holding, or $6.5 billion stake in the world's largest mobile carrier earlier this month.

Vodafone's withdrawal removed the uncertainty that had surrounded China Mobile's share price, Wang said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, according to Reuters.

China Mobile has worked with Vodafone for ten years, and this will continue, Wang was cited by the report as saying. He also said that areas the two parties intend to work together on include developing new markets together, technology, and green development.
