Approved by the State Council, the Ministry of Finance allocated a special fund for legal aid totaling 700,000 yuan to assist migrant workers, the handicapped, the aged and young people as well as women in legal affairs in southwest China's Tibet autonomous region.

Up till now, 68 county-level legal aid centers have been set up across the region in an effort to offer legal assistance to more local residents.

The legal aid network has basically taken shape. Over 700 cases were handled last year, according to the Tibet Legal Aid Center.
